Dream Brighton Home

It looks like there’s finally going to be a trend that means I may be able to afford a house one day. As a young person in my mid-twenties, I had removed the idea of me ever being able to buy a house from my mind. Unless you happen to land yourself an extremely high paying job or come from old money, buying a house is (was) an impossible dream. I say ‘was’ tentatively because although people in high positions are trying to make houses more affordable, I haven’t seen any proof of the change yet. But there is certainly hope, which is why I’ve started looking into a few residential architects for Brighton homes.

Brighton is my absolute dream place to live. I’ve never lived in Brighton before for obvious reasons, but it’s so pretty plus close to the beach and the city. I’d prefer to live in Brighton over popular suburbs like Hawthorn or Toorak, because although they’re obviously really nice, they’re not close enough to the beach for my liking.

Essentially, my dream is to build my own house in Brighton. Architects love designing bespoke homes and I’d love for an architect to design a house that fits perfectly on whichever unique block I purchase. I’d love it if the architect could design my house so that the windows capture the most natural light possible, having lived in plenty of dark rental properties over the last few years of adulthood. Pretty much my dream is to be able to purchase a block of land, give the size of the block and my requirements to my chosen architect and let them design a house that I’ll love for the rest of my life. I wonder if that dream will ever come true.

Only time will tell whether or not the housing crisis will subside. I’m taking a “hope for the best, expect the worst” frame of mind.
